Hey mommas!!! Happy Friday!!! Hope you all had a wonderful week and are excited about the weekend!! :)
So some of you that have been following along with me for a while now will know that I'm a Texas girl at heart. I'm displaced a little up here in Oklahoma, but that doesn't change the fact that deep down I will always be a Texas girl. Texas is my home state, and it's truly hard to compare any other state to Texas. Sorry Oklahoma, but it's true. Now don't get me wrong--I've come to know that Oklahoma is a great state too and honestly--I would have never known had I not lived here the past 5 years. There really are some great people here in Oklahoma and they've made us feel very welcome. However, there's just something different about Texas. It has and always will feel like home. One of these days, my little family has every intention on getting back home to Texas. But for now, we'll keep on enjoying Oklahoma as our adopted state.
One of the things that is totally unique and special to the state of Texas (among many things) is HEB. Those of you mommas from Texas know exactly about the wonder that is HEB and you don't need me to tell you how great it is. It's seriously one of the things that I miss most about Texas. I have never enjoyed a grocery store more than HEB. Sorry Oklahomans, but you're missing out there. There's a lot of great things about Oklahoma, but amazing grocery stores is not one of them. To have seriously wonderful produce and products at the best pricing you can get and provide it all in a organized, clean, and super friendly facility....I mean it's amazing. You've gotta see it to believe it.
So because I adore HEB so much and really do miss shopping there, I get my HEB fix by keeping up with them on social media since we don't have their stores up here in Oklahoma. Last week, they posted the most delicious Frosé recipe, and it looked so good that I just had to try it. Normally, I find a recipe I think sounds good, and I adapt it in some way in which I think may be a little better. Well, leave it to HEB to come up with a recipe that needs no adaptation. So, coming to you courtesy of the amazing people at HEB, here is a Frosé that you definitely need in your life. It's so simple to make, so delicious, and icy cold. It may just be my new second favorite summer drink, coming in behind the Mojito of course! ;) Whip up a batch this weekend and enjoy!! Cheers mommas!! See you next week!!
xx, Momma Mojito
HEB FROSE (Frozen Rosé)
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle of Rosé Wine (any kind will work--I recommend one that's not too sweet like Charles & Charles Rosé...HEB recommends Forty Ounce Rosé)
- 1/4 cup of Vodka (I recommend Tito's)
- 2 Cups of Fresh Strawberries (sliced)
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 2 Tbsp Grenadine
Directions:
Pour entire bottle of Rosé into ice cube trays and freeze for at least 6 hours. When frozen, pop out the cubes and place in a blender. Add remaining ingredients. Blend until it has reached desired consistency. Pour in stemless wine glasses (might I suggest some of our gorgeous wine glasses that can be found here) and garnish with a sprig of mint and a strawberry with each glass. Serve immediately. Cheers mommas!!
