It's Friday Cocktail Time! The Modern Gin & Cucumber Gimlet Edition!

IMG_7132.jpg

Hey mommas!! Happy Friday to ya!! I'm extra excited for the weekend, because I get to spend it with some of you girls!! I'm having a pop-up shop tomorrow with Gem and Ivy in downtown Shawnee, OK from 11-5.  I'm so excited for you mommas to see all of these Spring Collection pretties in person! I even have some never-before-seen arrivals too! Eek!! So fun!! So make sure to come see me tomorrow, and I'll even give you a little discount if you mention you read my blog! Yay! :)

Because I'm going to be out at the pop-up tomorrow, I have a million things going on today to do some last-minute prep for it.  So, I'm cutting straight to the chase with this delicious and refreshing Gin & Cucumber Gimlet, but a modern and updated version (from the classic version I posted a while back) that eliminates the Rose's Sweetened Lime Juice and is a bit fresher and stronger.  It's a breeze to make, and it's a breeze to drink.  So crisp and light, it's just right for springtime.  Pour yourself one this lovely Friday afternoon and enjoy! Cheers mommas and hope to see you tomorrow!

MOMMA MOJITO'S GIN & CUCUMBER GIMLET -- THE MODERN VERSION

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz. Gin
  • .5 oz. Simple Syrup
  • Juice of Half a Lime
  • 4 Thick Slices of Cucumber
  • Tonic Water to Taste
  • Cucumber Slice, Lime Wedge, & Mint Sprig for Garnish (**Note--I also added some cucumber peels to my glass before putting ice in as well just for the look!**)

Directions:

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour in gin, simple syrup, lime juice, and the 4 slices of cucumber.  Cover and shake until chilled.  Strain into a cocktail glass of your choice that is filled with ice and maybe even some cucumber peels like I did.  Top up with tonic water.  Garnish with a slice of cucumber, a wedge of lime, and a sprig of mint.  Cheers!
