It's Friday Cocktail Time!! Bloody Mary Edition!!

Blue hydrangeas are my fave!! :) Aren't they pretty??

Hey mommas!! Happy Friday!! Hope you mommas have had a wonderful week and I'm sure you all are ready for the weekend!! Heck yeah!!

I had such a blast meeting so many of you mommas last weekend at Wanderlust!! It was our biggest day of sales to date, and I can't thank you mommas enough for showing us so much love!! We LOVED hearing how much all of you loved our products including our prices!! We always want to make you mommas happy, and we'll continue to keep growing and making sure we're doing just that!!  So from the bottom of my heart, I want to give a big thank you to all of you for being loyal Momma Mojito fans!! :)

On another note, it has been the weirdest Friday around here in OKC.  It started out with massive amounts of rain through the night that continued into the morning today resulting in some serious flash flooding. The surrounding streets in my area were shut down in several places making for a very interesting drive to school this morning.  It's been so bad that many cars were stalled out in the intersection next to my house, so we've had news helicopters flying over the area all day taking video footage. Crazy right?!?  It's been hard for me to get much work done with all the chaos going on, but luckily I already had whipped up some Bloody Marys earlier this week, so I'm ready to share the yumminess with you girls!!  So here it is mommas!! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!! I'm off to go make one of these for myself stat!! Cheers!! ;)

xx, Momma Mojito

MOMMA MOJITO'S CLASSIC (SPICY) BLOODY MARY

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Tito's Vodka
  • 4 oz. Spicy Hot V8 or Plain Tomato Juice (either one works great--but use more tabasco if using plain tomato juice!)
  • Juice of Half a Lemon
  • 1/4 oz. Pickle Juice (yes you heard me right!)
  • 3-4 dashes of Worcestershire Sauce
  • 3-4 dashes of Tabasco Sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. of Prepared Horseradish Sauce
  • Salt & Pepper to Taste
  • 1 tbsp each of Kosher Salt and Celery Salt for Rim - Mixed
  • Garnishes such as Olives, Pickles, Celery Stalk, etc.

Directions:

In a highball glass, run a halved lemon over the rim of the glass.  Set the lemon aside.  Dip the rim of the glass in the kosher and celery salt mixture to coat the rim.  Shake off any excess.  Fill the glass all the way up with ice and set aside.  Next, fill up a cocktail shaker with ice.  Add vodka, V8 or tomato juice, the juice of that halved lemon, pickle juice, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, horseradish sauce, and salt and pepper to taste.  You can also throw in a 1/4 tsp of red pepper flakes if you're wanting even more heat.  Cover the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds approximately.  Strain into the highball glass.  Garnish as desired and add a straw for drinking.  Feel free to enjoy this cocktail ANY time of day--it's just as good at other times of the day besides brunch....but hey brunch works too!! Cheers mommas!! ;)

(P.S. For inquiring minds, my gorgeous teal glasses are Pioneer Woman from Wal-Mart!! :o Love her stuff!! It's the cutest!!)
